Early NFL 2013-14 Playoff Predictions
The NFC-West division rivals will face off in the NFC Championship for a spot in Super Bowl. And it will a glimpse into the future of how football will be played from here on out.
The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers both play with a dual-threat quarterback who can beat you in a number of different ways. They both have plenty of weapons surrounding them (49ers receiver Michael Crabtree will be back from injury). Kaepernick might be the faster quarterback and have the superior arm, but Russell Wilson has the accuracy and poise in the pocket to manage a tight game.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Seahawks made some additions on the pass-rushing front. The team acquired Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril, but they’re still not equipped to handle the run. That won’t be good for a team that allowed 4.5 yards per carry last season (23rd in NFL). And there might be questions of whether the Seahawks will be reprimanded for breaking the drug policy this offseason.
Prediction: 49ers 31, Seahawks 24
